The Basics of Engineered Stone Cleaning
Regular Maintenance
Engineered stone surfaces should be maintained regularly, typically with a specialty cleaner best suited for quartz surfaces. A prime example of this is our Caesarstone Spray Cleaner, a top-quality engineered stone cleaning product.
Cleaning Pads
Try to avoid harsh scouring pads and stick to microfibre cloths and soft sponges when cleaning your engineered stone surfaces.
Stain Removal
For stubborn stains, marks and general dullness, we can recommend trying an abrasive cleaner specialised for quartz surfaces, such as Caesarstone Cream Cleanser. The next step if the cream cleanser fails would be to seek professional restoration.
Avoid Heat Damage
Try to avoid placing anything hot on engineered stone surfaces. Although somewhat resistant, they are not completely heatproof and can be burnt. Burn marks are generally irreversible, depending on the severity.
Acidic Cleaners
Avoid acidic cleaners and use specialty cleaners as mentioned above.
Sealing

Recently, engineered stone has become a controversial topic due to the silica dust it produces when any sort of cutting, grinding, drilling, sanding and polishing is done to engineered stone surfaces without the use of water.
Silica Dust
The silica dust emitted can be fatal and detrimental to the lungs, causing silicosis and irreversible long-term damage. Hence, the engineered stone license was introduced from November 15, 2022.
Work Safe License
Any individual or business partaking in engineered stone restoration must have their Engineered Stone License otherwise they are not permitted to work with engineered stone.
